LMRF is a not-for-profit organization, established 15 years ago by a group of motivated medical students, residents, physicians and community health specialists. These individuals were united by one cause – to give back to the society by conducting meaningful health research in order to develop effective tools to try and alleviate human suffering.

LMRF has contributed extensively to the field of medical research through diverse areas such as Maternal and Child health, Environment health, Thalassemia, Sickle cell anemia, Tuberculosis, HIV, Cardiology, Oncology, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Pathology, Diabetes, Neurophysiology and Behavioral health.

LMRF’s research work has received recognition both in the academic world and public media. It has also conducted numerous workshops and seminars to train clinicians in various aspects of research methodology. It continues to pursue meaningful research via collaborations with various national and international organizations.

LMRF has developed its own IRB recognized by the Office of Human and Research Protections (OHRP) supported by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and at National level by Central Drug Standard Control Organization (CDSCO). IRB members have been trained trough various national and international workshops in Ethical issues, ICH-GCP, CITI modules and Bioethics courses.

It has a well established accounting and fiduciary practices in accordance with national government statutory requirements and international national accounting norms. It is recognized as an independent national research organization by the Department of Science and Industrial Research (DSIR) under Ministry of Science and Technology which will further help to have Indo-US collaborative research with Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Department of Biotechnology (DBT).
